Life in lockdown and the global Pandemic were way too different than we used to live earlier. Without any delay, the health sector acquired more importance than any other sector within a few months. People also started to prioritize health over other factors.
Economically speaking, most of the sectors experienced the wreck during this period. But the health sector and the sectors connected to it show a spectacular spike during these times. If we talk about smart devices involving IoT, they have also supported people’s needs during a pandemic. There was a considerable elevation in the market during the last few years.
Considering the ease of usage, features; these devices proved to be very useful for people’s requirements. In the Part-1 of this blog, let’s have a closer look at some of the features which turned out highly useful during the Pandemic:
Manage all devices from your Smartphone:
All the smart devices are connected through IoT technology, and one of the integral parts of IoT is the user interface. Having a user interface on your phone allows you to manage every smart device’s operations through your Smartphone.
If you are taking a bed rest at home, operating home appliances becomes easier with this feature. Also, for large-scale hospitals or covid care centers, having control of major medical devices at a single interface enhances usability and minimizes the workforce required.
This recently innovated feature is turning out to be revolutionary in the tech field. It has given a humanistic touch to the devices. Moreover, it is a lot more convenient for everyone since you won’t need to get up from where you are. An excellent example of voice assistance is google assistance, Alexa, Cortana, Siri, etc.
Since viruses can spread through the surface also, it became important to avoid or at least minimize touching any surface or objects. It could be switches, railings, lift buttons, common devices, handles of doors, etc.
With smart devices, the control panel is in your mobile, or the voice assistant is there. While operating appliances, we can minimize touching any objects and add a valuable point to safety.
A very good example of this could be the smart switches in hospitals or public places; it can minimize the spread of the virus through surfaces almost up to zero!
To conclude, these are some of the prime features of smart devices, which became very useful in a pandemic. Now, in Part-2, let’s look at some of the gadgets available in the market and their features.
