Who invented the internet and how is it changing lives in 2020?

The Internet is all around us. Modern life seems incomplete if you do not check what your friends are upto on social media. Apart from the social media platforms, how is the internet changing lives in 2020? There are many ways in which it is doing so. One such application is based on IoT technology.

Who invented the internet?

The Internet is a technology so vastly spread. It seems impossible that it is the invention of a single person, and rightly so. It was the work of dozens of scientists and engineers who developed new technologies and features that made the internet we know today.

While the idea of the internet was planted way back in the 1900s, it was not until the 1960s that it took shape. The workable prototype of the Internet arrived in the late 1960s with ARPANET.

In 1990, Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web and gave us the Internet that we know today. But now, with the Internet of Things, the internet is taking yet another shape.

How is the internet changing lives in 2020?

With the concept of smart homes and smart devices, the internet has pushed its limits. Homes are getting automated all thanks to the communication between things that is driven by the internet. Smart devices have eased our lives and are changing the future of living.

Lights need not be switched on or with switches anymore. Nor do the air conditioners, TVs or any other appliances. They can now be controlled from anywhere in the world with a simple touch on your mobile phone. Or with motion or voice control when you are near the devices. The world has really changed all thanks to the internet.
